Late afternoon sunlight and the stadium flood lights counteracting against the encroaching shadows and darkness at Candlestick Park. This was during batting practice before a SF Giants vs NY Mets night game on Friday, May 13, 1988.
The SF Giants ended up winning the game 3-2, with Kelly Downs getting the win and Bob Ojeda taking the loss. Giants catcher, Bob Melvin, who is now the Oakland A’s Manager, got two RBI’s to help the Giants get the win. The Giants Shortstop and fan favorite, Jose Uribe, got 1 RBI. Giants fans used to chant, “Ooo-reee-bay”, whenever he came up to bat or when he made a nice defensive play.
