Do you remember the southern part of Candlestick Park. I took this shot in 1988.

I love looking at the design of the red pattern of the support beams circling the outside of the stadium.

The vintage cars in the parking lot remind us of this eta in the 80’s.

Notice the ramp which leads to other parking lot areas. It provided a safe ok walkway away from the moving cars.

Candlestick Park was a welcoming stadium. Tickets were affordable. I did not have to plan ahead to go to a game. I could spontaneously go to a game and just buy tickets to attend a SF Giants game.

Can we also learn to welcome people into our life? Are we accessible to people? Do we have walls preventing people into our lives? Do we share our experiences with others to encourage or help someone?

We can all learn from the legacy of Candlestick Park.

You are looking at the double decker escalator heading up to Candlestick Park from the Gate A entrance of the main parking lot.  I always enjoyed taking the escalator up as this was one of the biggest escalators I ever rode. At the foot of the upper escalator entrance is a souvenir stand.

I’m glad I shot photos of this double decker escalator in the late 1980’s, since it may be rare.  I also like seeing the many cars in the main parking lot.  It is interesting to see the old style cars parked.

When I was photographing Candlestick Park, little did I know that one day this stadium would be demolish.  Also I never thought I would be recording this stadium’s history with my photographs.   This is a reminder for all of us that it is important to take lots of photographs to record the different scenes in our life.

img004-kodachrome-5-88-dust-removed-copyI took this photo on the field at Candlestick Park.  I love being on the well groomed field where the baseball players hit balls and run thru the bases.  I love feeling the grass.  I love a smooth field with no pot holes.

I also love being behind home base.   It represents victory despite opposition.   It represents success based on diligence and hard work.  It represents excellent performance based on a deep passion.

The fresh chalk marks around home plate only last a short time after they start to play ball.  I love this old tradition to apply these chalk marks at the beginning of each game.  These chalk marks give the boundaries for the batter box and fade after a few innings.  It reminds me how we need a daily reminder of the guidelines and life rules to obtain and strive for the homeruns we need in our personal life.  Striving for our home run success should be our goal too.

NN5A0323 CopyThe photograph was taken on 4/20/16 with the SF Giants playing the Arizona D-Backs. This was a disappointing game where the SF Giants lost 2-1.

We arrived early at AT&T Park and went to the view reserve seats on the top edge of the stadium by the water.  This is where this shot was taken with a Canon EF 8-15mm Fisheye ultra wide angle lens.  I used a Canon EOS 7D MKII camera.

I went roaming around the stadium taking photographs like I did when I would go to games at Candlestick Park.  I will be sharing more of my “Stadium Art” photographs of AT&T Park in the future.
