On a road trip a month ago on 10/13/17 with my buddy, Larry, we were in search of some elusive Red Sugar Maple Leaves and found some in New Hampshire. My timing was a little off as a lot of areas in New Hampshire were past the Fall Foliage Prime as most of the leaves were on the ground.

We went to Denver for our niece’s wedding.  As always, I am seeking to find fall foliage scenery to photograph.  We rushed in the morning to go to Washington Park to see the trees.  It was a wonderful morning with a little remnant of snow left and the bright sun shining in the background of the leaves.  The sun highlighted the bright red hues of the leaves to bring out their beauty.  My wife was standing on the other side and could not see the brilliant colors because the sun was reflecting off of the leaves.  So she was very surprised how the pictures showed off the maple leaves bright red colors, since she did not see the same colors.

It was a peaceful morning enjoying the fall colors, and the still waters at Smith Lake.  As the time approached noon, the reflection on the lake became clearer.  It was a nice time to enjoy the quietness of nature.

Do you noticed the star sun on the upper left part of the photograph?  I put my “t” at this spot to represent the “Cross” and how Christ is our bright light.  Just as the sun shines to show forth the true color of the leaves, Christ’s brilliance can also be seen in us who follow Him.

Photographs not only reflect memories but can also teach us life lessons.

img_0874-copy-2In life, we do not always like change.  It is unsettling.  We have to adjust.  There may be unexpected things that occur where we need to figure how to handle.

Change can be beautiful.  We need to learn to embrace changes which help us to grow as individuals and realize we need  change.

This is a sugar maple leaf in the middle of fall change.  I took this in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.  The striking yellow  and green veins indicate the middle of transition from  green to orange.  Our photos should record the transitions in our life.

This is another example of taking your photos with the light from behind to enhance the colors.  About 15 to 20 years ago, I would photograph 35 mm Chrome film for transparencies and slides.  When we would project the slides with the light from behind which would enhance the colors in the image.  Seek true color in your photos (then you will not need to photoshop) and record the changes in your life.
